Since March, Károly Pintér has been leading the kitchen at Mövenpick BalaLand Resort Lake Balaton. With over twenty years of experience, he has worked both in Hungary and abroad. Most recently, he represented Hungary at the World Expo in Dubai—and not in just any role: he was the head chef of the Hungarian pavilion. He firmly believes: “In food, flavor is the most important—only after that can you start thinking about presentation.”

His style is clean and unpretentious, yet still special. He always works with fresh ingredients from reliable producers. What he cooks appeals not only to fine dining enthusiasts: guests of the hotel can enjoy dishes every day that Károly would proudly serve anywhere in the world.

Dinners at Mövenpick BalaLand are anything but ordinary: every evening features the cuisine of a different country. This is part of the hotel’s themed “Around the World in 80 Days” culinary series. The hotel’s Pirate Restaurant delights guests with French flavors, Indian dishes, and Italian dinners, but also includes the tastes of the USA, South America, and the East—so it truly feels like traveling the globe.

And this experience isn’t just for adults. Mövenpick BalaLand is a child-centered, family-friendly hotel, where children are just as important as adults. Buffet dining is an experience for them too: they can choose from their own lower-level buffet counter, offering dishes tailored to them but still of high quality—whether it’s a main course or dessert.

In keeping with Mövenpick standards, great emphasis is placed on healthy and allergen-free food options: gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are all available, so that every guest can find something that suits their needs.
